How to read cursive (and why it's important)

by Mycursive

Didn't learn cursive? no problem!

Many younger Millennials and Gen Z were never taught to write in cursive. But you can still read it!  Here's how in 3 steps:

first — Get a good chart

Comparing print letters to cursive ones will give you a fast, easy reference point.

Second — understand that cursive flows

Cursive words are connected. Once you're comfortable with individual letters, begin to learn how basic words are formed together

Finally — Practice Reading Cursive with Meaningful Texts

Have old letters from and to family? Grandma's recipes? Read something that's meaningful, it'll help you stay motivated.  But whatever you do —just keep trying to read cursive!
